2008 Prom Hair Styles

!±8± 2008 Prom Hair Styles

Prom 2008 isn't about looking like just another perfect, pastel cupcake in the pink bakery box-it's about you being who you are and showing it!! So you need to make the most of your unique self and do it with hair that says so. We asked the industries top stylists what this years top party do's are!! Whcih one is for you??

URBAN LEGEND

If you like your hair short and spiky, Farouk Artist Cindy Ryman, who also works at Image Connection Plus outside of Houston, suggests starting with wet hair and building foundation for the finished punk-rock look with layered products.

First,"cocktail" equal parts of the following together in the palm of your hand: CHI Silk Infusion, CHI Infared Gel, CHI Straight Guard Smooth Styling Cream. Next, blow dry, using a vent brush into the desired direction of the style. Finally apply a weightless styling paste to the palms of your hands, rub together lightly, and work through your hair.

PREPPY PRINCESS

Go for a medium-length 'do that really makes the most of your prom pedigree. For the most posh look, sweep your hair back with a simple, narrow band, or a velvet or grosgrain ribbon that matches your gown.

If your natural curl or wave tends to be unruly, you will want to tame it into something more civilized. It is all in the wrists. When the hair is dry, mist it with a thermal protector, the use a PHI Flat Iron to smooth the strands from scalp to chin. Finish with a texture spray and a shine infusion for control and shine with out leaving hair feeling coated and heavy. For a retro Jacki O look, irn your hair smooth to the ends, and flip the tips outwards.

FLOWER CHILD

Structure is not for you, so start with the center part and plan to wear most of your hair down, with small sections pulled away from the sides and soft, loose tendrils around your face.

This look needs as much volume as possible, so start by applying equal parts of a Glazing gel, and a thickening cream to damp hair. Pin up all but a bottom section of your hair, and start drying small sections with a blow dryer and a large brush. Keep dryying all your hair, and use the brush to create soft, smooth curls on the ends. When your hair is dry pick up small sections and wind them around your PHI Flat Iron. Then scoop the sides of your hair up and away form your face and use hidden bobby pins to secure these sections. Leave the hair around your hair line loose to frame your gorgeous peepers.

UPLOADED

One of the freshest updo's is soft, yet funky. Hair is combed back, then shaped in to five loose knots across the back of the head. Soft curls twine around each knot to create fluffy swirls. We suggest you prep your wet hair with a mixture of a volume booster, then a diffuser and your hands to "scrunch" it dry. Next divide your hair into five sections, twist each one loosely, tie it in a knot and secure it with a bobby pin. Arrange each "knot" in a pretty row along the back of your head. The ends of each knot may be softly curled and tucked around the base. Or for a more casual effect, leave them piece by piece and out.
